In 1853 a tradition of brewing excellence was established on the banks of the Esk River in Launceston. James Boag believed in brewing the best possible beers using only the finest ingredients. His son not only carried his name but his commitment to quality, purity and great tasting beers. For over 120 years, J. Boag & Son has adhered to these values and continues to brew Australia's highest quality beers.
In 2004 the first stage of a $50 million expansion of the brewery was completed, with the installation of a new high speed packaging line. The very best technology, coupled with traditional brewing techniques, pride and passion, combine as the basis for Boag’s beers.
